We have an apple orchard about a half an hour away from us. We decided that we wanted to go on a Saturday that we didn't have anything going on. It was so much fun. The kids had fun picking the apples, throwing the ones that had fallen on the ground, wandering around the orchard (which was beautiful), and picking/eating raspberries. They they got to climb on hay bales and just enjoy the country scenery. It was such a good family activity. We ended up with 4 pounds of raspberries and a peck of apples. Loved making freezer jam and lots of desserts with the apples.
